Carrick Fight Back To Lift Leitrim Hurling Title

Carrick Hurling retained the Leitrim senior hurling title but had to fight back to see of Manor Hamilton at Avantcard Pairc Sean MacDiarmada.

Extra-time was required to separate the sides with Stephen Goldrick extra-time goal settling the tie as last year’s junior Connacht champions won out 1-20 to 0-21.

Gavin O’Hagan dashed Manor Hamilton (Cluanin Iomaint’s) dreams with an equalising free in the third minute of injury time as it finished out 16 points apiece.

The holders made the most of their second bite at the cherry with Goldrick making amends for missing a penalty when firing home the all-important goal.

Carrick’s James Glancy collected with the man-of-the-match award.
