Victories for Longford and Leitrim but defeat for Roscommon

In Division 4 of the Lidl National ladies football league last years All Ireland junior champions Longford  made it 2 wins out of 2 In Rathcline with a comprehensive 29 point victory over Louth.  Aoife Darcy, Aisling Reynolds, and Michelle Farrell raised the green flag for James Daly’s team as last year’s All-Ireland Junior Champions emerged victorious by 3-23 to 0-03 with eleven different players getting on the scores sheet.  After the match, our reporter Tony Ghee spoke with the Longford Ladies manager James Daly.

in Division 3 Tipperary got the better of Roscommon by 0-21 to 1-10 and Leitrim saw off Down by 2-11 to 2-08.

Monaghan defeated Mayo by 3-09 to 1-14 in an enthralling match in Saint Tiernachs Park in Clones in Division one . After Last weeks defeat against Dublin Monaghan seemed to be on the road to defeat again as they were losing at half time by 1-08 to 0-04 with Cora Staunton getting 1-06 of that total. however Monaghan started the second half well with a goal from Ciara McAnespie. A few minutes later with Monaghan behind by six points Emer McAnespie got the next goal for the Farney Army and they were level with 11 minutes to go. However Mayo twice went two points up and were leading by that margin in the closing moments when Caoimhe Mohan popped up with a winning goal. In Division 2 Aidan McCabes Cavan defeated Clare by 1-10 to 1-08.
