Henshaw Returns But Sexton A Doubt

Robbie Henshaw will return to training this week as Leinster prepare for their Heineken European Champions Cup Clash with Toulouse but Johnny Sexton is now a doubt.

The out-half is rated as “50-50” due to a lower leg injury suffered in the recent defeat to Munster at Thomond Park.  Ross Byrne could start in Sexton’s place.

“Johnny has had the problem for a few days now and he hasn’t trained since picking it up in the Munster game but I would have no problem with playing Ross Byrne,” Stuart Lancaster told reporters.

Devin Toner is another concern for the Leinster coaching staff ahead of the game at the RDS due to an ankle injury.

Henshaw suffered a hamstring injury during the warm up to the November Test victory over Argentina, and scans suggested he was facing an eight month layoff last month.

The Leinster centre had been a doubt for Ireland’s upcoming Six Nations opener against England.

The 25-year-old has now been given green light to return to training with his Province under medical supervision.
