Use your brain and not your fist

An unprovoked attack can wreck a life.

The ‘use your brain not your fist’ is a Garda public awareness campaign targeting young men in an effort to inform them about the devastating consequences of assaults.

20 year old Andrew Dolan from Carrick on Shannon was viciously and fatally assaulted in an unprovoked attack outside a chipper in Mullingar on December 23rd 2011 – he died on New Year’s Day 2012.

His mother Rosie is supporting the ”Use your brain and not your fist” campaign and also an initiative by Comhairle na nOg in Leitrim which is producing a video to highlight the dangers of aggressive behaviour.
