PODCAST: Time for Rooskey to reclaim its voice after arson attacks

Rooskey in Co Leitrim has been in the headlines recently because of two arson attacks at the Shannon Key West Hotel, which is earmarked for asylum-seekers.

Trinity College student Emmet King, who’s from the village, has written a powerful article on the controversy, under the headline ‘the racist attack that rendered a village mute’, for Trinity News, the university’s newspaper.

The 20-year-old is calling for the people of Rooskey to take control of the narrative once again – he feels it’s time for them to stand together and speak with one voice.
