PODCAST: Journalist Paul Williams defends concerns over refugees coming to his home town

Ballinamore native Paul Williams has been defending the concerns of people in his home town about plans to bring 130 refugees to the area.

While local residents objections to the proposals have been met with allegations of racism in some sections, Paul Williams says the area has no problem in integrating with people from other countries,as was proved several years ago, but it should be on a much smaller scale.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning Paul Williams accused the government of “bully boy” tactics in trying to impose large numbers of people on much smaller communities around the country.
