PODCAST: Carrick on Shannon Chamber says decrease in hen and stags not ‘a bad thing’

The president of Carrick-on-Shannon Chamber of Commerce claims the sharp decline in hen and stag parties is positive for the town.
The south Leitrim town is famed for its nightlife, but Colm McGrath confirms there has been a 20 to 30-per-cent drop in hen and stag bashes in the town this year. He says it’s because of a decrease in the sterling exchange rate and more competition from other areas, such as Sligo and Athlone.
