LISTEN: Local volunteers seek donations in order to keep producing facemasks for health workers

A group of volunteers across Longford, who are helping to provide facemasks for frontline health workers are hoping the public will help donate more much-needed raw materials

The Masks on a Mission Ireland team have dozens of volunteers across the Shannonside Northern Sound region helping provide HSE approved masks for staff.

They are looking for donations of materials such as light curtains, duvet covers and other suitable fabric to be transformed into PPE equipment.

Some of the creations have been already worn by staff at local nursing homes in the region as well as by nurses at Crumlin’s Children’s hospital.
