It comes as Ireland prepares for more severe weather conditions with the arrival of Storm Ciarán tomorrow.

The airport is closed this morning due to heavy fog affecting maintenance works, with the operator saying they expect the airport to reopen soon.

Met Eireann says the county will see intense rainfall over a relatively short amount of time from 11am until 6pm.

It is currently 26 degrees at Mount Dillon, Roscommon.

Met Eireann Meteorologist, Liz Walsh says almost all of the country will be hit by heavy downpours:

The bank holiday weekend will be "mixed" but Sunday is looking like the best for outdoor activities.

She says that those in the agri sector are very conscious of the surrounding areas
