Two teenage boys are to stand trial accused of the murder of Kildare schoolgirl Ana Kriegel.
One of them appeared before the Children’s Court earlier accompanied by his parents.
The 14-year-old boy held hands with his mother and father and his grandfather sat nearby as he appeared before the Children’s Court.
The court heard the Book of Evidence is ready in the case and has been served – the boy is now being sent forward for trial to the next sitting of the Central Criminal Court.
He was the first to be charged with Ana Kriegel’s murder back in May.
The schoolgirls body was found in a derelict farmhouse a few days after she went missing.
A second boy – who is 13 – is also to face trial accused of the murder after being sent forward for trial earlier this week.
The boys can’t be named because they are minors and both are on bail pending trial
They haven’t indicated how they will plead.
