The popular amenity is just a few kilometres from the end/beginning of the Royal Canal in Clondra.

Two days' notice will be required for any crafts to pass through Begnagh Bridge on the Royal Canal near Clondra due to ongoing mechanical issues for the next three months.

Waterways Ireland has issued a notice that the bridge can only be operated manually on certain dates between the 15th of April and the 24th of June.

Master of Vessels on the Royal Canal are advised to take note of the six specific dates and prior notice must be given 2 days in advance to the Water patroller in Clondra

Waterways Ireland apologies for any inconvenience caused to its users.

Master of Vessels on the Royal Canal due to ongoing mechanical issues with Begnagh Bridge, the bridge can only be operated manually on scheduled dates as follows;

" Friday, April 15th, 2022 - 1000hrs
" Thursday, April 28th, 2022 - 1000hrs
" Friday, May 13th, 2022 - 1000hrs
" Friday, May 27th, 2022 - 1000hrs
" Friday, June 10th, 2022 - 1000hrs
" Friday, June 24th, 2022 - 1000hrs

Prior notice must be given 2 days in advance to the Water patroller in Clondra on 087-9151400.
