ballaghderreen-bypass-2016Roscommon County Council is hopeful that the Minister for Transport will prioritise progress on the Scramogue to Ballaghaderreen section of the N5 after meeting with business leaders from the county today.

Chambers of Commerce from eight counties in the Midlands and North West including Roscommon made a presentation to Shane Ross and all other local TDs including Roscommon Galway Minister Denis Naughten on improving roads infrastructure to the region.

Senior Engineer at Roscommon County Council, Eugene Dwyer says the stretches of the N61 at Cooltigue and Clashaganny, the N63 at Oran, and work to eliminate railway intersections on the N61 at Ballymurray and Knockcroghery are all key projects for the county in 2017 and 2018.

He says however the main focus for them and local businesses meeting the Minister in Dublin today is the N5.
