Advance preparatory works are well underway on the €200 million N5 Ballaghaderreen to Scramogue Road Project.
That's according to Director of Services for Roads and Transportation with Roscommon County Council Shane Tiernan who updated members of the local authority on progress at their monthly meeting.
Mr Tiernan outlined that fencing, archaeological testing and geotechnical investigations are all ongoing and that the topographical proof survey is also being carried out.

Work is also taking place on diverting existing local authority and utility related infrastructure for example power lines and water pipes.
The main construction tenders were issued in July and the tender is about to be awarded, subject to compliance with Covid-19 protocols.
