The newly formed Divisional Protective Services Unit in the Roscommon/Longford Garda division is encouraging people who may have victims of sexual assault, child abuse or domestic abuse to make contact with them.

The unit is one of several across the country that have been set up in the last two years under the 2016 Garda Modernisation and Renewal Programme.

The Roscommon/Longford Unit is based in Roscommon and involves specially trained Garda detectives and other personnel who will carry out any investigations into sexual crime, child abuse and domestic violence.
