Deputy Kenny believes a new system is needed for checking and upskilling new arrivals for the workforce

It follows a number of security incidents at the home of Sinn Féin deputy, Martin Kenny in previous years.

Many families in south Leitrim have no nearby facility to use and the situation was described in May as an emergency.

Martin Kenny outlined that he has been contacted several times by passengers on local trains who have witnessed open drug abuse and violence.

The TD described the incident as very traumatic for his family as his wife was at home on her own at the time.

The man was charged following the incident in the early hours of last Thursday morning.

The man in his 40s was arrested this morning.

Gardai say investigations are ongoing.
