Low number of cars seized by Revenue official for VRT offences locally

Revenue Officials made just a handful of seizures of vehicles last year for breaches of vehicle registration tax offences.

According to details released to Shannonside FM, fewer than 10 vehicles were seized in Longford, Leitrim or Roscommon by revenue officials in 2020 for VRT.

Figures for between January and May of this year are also low- while no alcohol seizures were made in Longford or Leitrim last year or to date this year.

In Roscommon in 2020, less than 10 seizures of alcohol were made- with none so far this year.
