Approximately 100 members of the eastern European community gathered in St Mel’s Cathedral last night for a funeral mass for 31-year-old Akadiusz Czajkowski

 

The mass, conducted almost entirely in Polish, was attended by approximately 100 members of the Eastern European community in the town.

Akadiusz Czajkowski’s parents were among the chief mourners the mass for the 31-year-old who died following a stabbing incident in the town last week.

The mass, celebrated by Fr Kristoff, heard that the people of Longford had been a great support to the family and friends of the late 31-year-old since his death last Tuesday,

The Bishop of Ardagh Francis Duffy was thanked as were all who attended the mass.

The remains of the Polish national are to be flown back to his native Poland for burial in the coming days.
