Westmeath Fine Gael TD rejects claims of criticism at parliamentary party meeting

Longford Westmeath Fine Gael Deputy Peter Burke is rejecting claims that he criticised the party at its parliamentary meeting yesterday for leaving the door open to possible talks with Fianna Fail on the formation of government.

A report on the front page of the Irish Times today says that Deputy Burke and others questioned why Fine Gael would say it is both preparing for opposition while leaving open the option of entering government.

Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show who this morning, Deputy Burke rejected those claims and said he has made his feelings clear at all times on the issue.
