South Westmeath Hospice Committee calls for admission policy review

The South Westmeath Hospice Committee is calling for a full review of the local admission policy to the hospice unit in consultation with their committee and key personnel in the hospice.

The call comes as occupancy figures issued by the HSE in recent days appear to contradict figures they gave last year as part of their reasons for closing the beds in the unit.

The south Westmeath Hospice Committee say that the HSE originally gave figures of 35% occupancy unit for the past two years, but now they have figures showing occupancy levels of 59% and 68% for 2018 and 2019.
