Sligo Hospital one of most overcrowded in country today

Sligo University Hospital is one of the most overcrowded in the country today.

According to the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation there are 31 patients waiting for a bed there, 25 in the Emergency Department and 6 on the wards..

Elsewhere in the Shannonside region there are 18 people on trolleys or chairs in University College Hospital Galway, 11 in Tullamore Hospital, 7 in Portiuncula, and 5 in Mullingar.


There are 458 patients nationwide waiting for a bed with Cork University Hospital the worst hit facility with 50 people there.
