Seven jihadists jailed for killing 60 people, including an Athlone couple

Seven jihadists have been jailed for life in Tunisia for gun and grenade attacks which killed 60 people, including three Irish people.

Larry and Martina Hayes, from Athlone, Co Westmeath and Lorna Carty, from Robinstown, in Meath died in the incident.

A museum in Tunis and a beach resort near Sousse were targeted within months of each other in 2015.


Other defendants received shorter prison terms and 27 were acquitted.
