It’s being reported that the Golden island Shopping Centre in Athlone is in line to be bought for just over €35 million euro.
The property on the outskirts of Athlone town was put on the market by Cushman and Wakefield earlier this year with an asking price of €41 million.
The shopping centre had been bought by its`present owners Credit Suisse for €43.5 million in 2016.
It was originally built in 1996 and has two major anchor stores among over 40 retail units, as well as an IMC Cinema complex.
It’s estimated that around three and a half million people go through the centre each year.
A fund managed by Davy Real Estate is reported to be involved in the new deal for Golden Island but Credit Suisse have not made any comment on the reports to date.
