Report on removing Shannon pinch points to be published in weeks

A report looking at removing pinch points along the river Shannon will be published in the coming weeks.

Minister at the Office of Public Works Kevin Boxer Moran commissioned the study to find out the impact of dredging silt and milled peat on the environment and increasing flow of the river.

Once it’s in the public domain, surveys and the licensing process will be undertaken and it’s expected that work will not begin until next year.

Minister Moran says it’s imnportant to get the process moving.
