On Let’s Talk on Wednesday, Nasc Ireland’s communications and campaigns manager, Jennifer DeWan, spoke in depth about the direct-provision system in Ireland after scathing complaints were made by residents of the Athlone and Longford centres.

She believes the current system is ‘untenable’ and doesn’t respect the human rights and dignity of the asylum-seekers.
