People living in the midlands are being reminded that help is on hand via Pieta House if it’s necessary over the holiday period.
The charity expanded to Athlone in October of last year taking over the former Console premises and has helped in counselling a significant number of people over the past few months.
A suicide bereavement officer has now begun working with the centre to help families cope with the aftermath of suicide.
Siobhan Liejen who’s manager of the centre in Athlone says the Christmas holidays can be very stressful for some people.
