People across the Shannonside region will have access to a free mental health programme beginning this week

A new mental health initiative for people in the Shannonside region is beginning next week.

A free weekly seminar programme, examining different approaches and aspects to mental health promotion, is being rolled out from Tuesday with different speakers every Tuesday hosting classes.

Each week the classes will focus on each a unique service or support for different aspects of people’s life that can help mental wellbeing and recovery including information on courses, and educational materials on Recovery from mental health issues.

Alice McDonnell Peer Educator for Longford and Westmeath says the courses co-delivered by people with lived experience, family members and staff working within the service.
