LISTEN: Sinn Féin chooses next general election candidate for Longford Westmeath

Westmeath Sinn Fein Councillor Sorca Clarke has been chosen to represent the party in the Longford Westmeath constituency in the next general election .

Her selection comes amid fresh allegations of bullying in the party made by members around the country in recent days, and in the aftermath of similar allegations from her Westmeath council colleague Paul Hogan earlier this year,.

Councillor Hogan had issued a statement last Friday saying he wouldn’t be allowing his name to go before convention in Longford last Saturday, because he didn’t want to be hypocritical given the concerns he outlined in recent months.

Councillor Clarke spoke to Anne Norris on the Let’s Talk show on Monday.
