Over a hundred people are waiting for beds at hospitals in the Shannonside region today.
Figures revealed by the INMO this morning show University Hospital Galway is one of the worst-hit hospitals, with forty people waiting between trolleys and wards elsewhere in the hospital.
According to today’s report, a total of twenty two people are waiting at Tullamore Hospital, and eleven people are waiting in Mullingar Midlands Hospital.
It notes Cavan General has eleven people sitting on trolleys or chairs while Sligo Univeristy Hospital has sixteen.
Portiuncula Hospital was one of the least affected hospitals nationwide with just two people on trolleys today.
A combined total of 534 people are affected around the country, with 360 in the emergency department and 174 in wards.
The worst affected hospital is University Hospital Limerick, with fifty two people waiting.
