Gardai investigating alleged sexual assault of Shannonside schoolboy

Gardai are investigating an alleged sexual assault on a young boy from the Shannonside region at a boarding school in Westmeath.

The alleged incident, which involved the use of a clothes hanger, is alleged to have occurred at Wilson’s Hospital School in Multyfarnham in the autumn of 2017.

It’s believed that the victim, who was in his first year at the school, was attacked by up to three other boys at the school and left with minor injuries following the incident.

He has since left the school and is now attending different secondary school in the Shannonside region.

Gardai have confirmed they are investigating the incident and a file has been forwarded to the DPP in relation to the matter.
