Castlepollard mother-and-baby home survivor slams minister

A survivor of the mother-and-baby home at Castlepollard in Co Westmeath says he’s exhausted and angry with watching other survivors die without a proper apology and redress for what they were subjected to.

Paul Redmond, who has researched and written a book about the scandals in the homes, was reacting today to the latest interim report.

He says most people accept that a lot of answers are going to remain unanswered about what exactly happened in these homes and he believes the Children Minister’s Katherine Zappone has done little expect pay lip service to survivors.
