Athlone-based Minister of State says negotiations continuing today with Finance Minister

Athlone-based Minister of State, Kevin Boxer Moran, says negotiations are continuing today with Finance Minister Pascal Donohoe and nothing is written in stone yet.

The OPW Minister and his other colleagues in the Independent Alliance have yet to sign off on the budget and it’s expected that further talks will take place between the group and the Finance Minister this afternoon.

Boxer Moran says there are obvious concerns over the fact that pensioners may not get another €5 euro increase in the budget, and that the carbon tax will put an unfair burden on everyone who lives in rural areas.
