Arrested gardai released without charge

All three members of the Gardaí arrested yesterday on suspicion of corruption, have been released without charge.

A Superintendent was arrested on suspicion of disclosing information, an Inspector was being held under the misuse of drugs act and a detective was arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice.

The arrests were made as part of an investigation into a Limerick criminal gang.

All three have been suspended from duty and files are being prepared for the DPP.
