AIT health co-ordinator reveals significant rise in mumps among students

The Institute Nurse and Health Centre Coordinator at Athlone IT says they have seen an increase in cases of mumps among students both last year and again this year.

Laura Tully was commenting in the wake of the latest reports which show 62 cases nationwide in the first week of 2020.
There were about 2,500 reported mumps cases nationwide in 2019, up from 573 in 2018.
