120 jobs are set for Athlone after a parcel delivery company announced it’s investing €2million at its central sorting hub.
DPD Ireland aims to expand its Irish operations by increasing capacity at the centre and boosting staff nationwide from 1,720 to 1,840 employees.
Recruitment for the new jobs will reportedly begin immediately, with roles such as drivers, sortation staff, night staff and administrative positions available throughout the country.
The Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation, Heather Humphreys, was in Athlone this morning to officially announce the news.
