Works to amend the Emlaghmore/Emlaghbeg road’s deterioration will be completed by the 25th of October, according to a local councillor.
It has sustained significant damages due to an increase in the volume and speed of extra traffic from the Roscommon/Castlerea road, which is undergoing roadworks.
Heavy traffic on the detour road reportedly upset local residents, who had major safety concerns.
According to Councillor Marty McDermott, the road had never experienced the level of traffic before, and it just wasn’t able for it.
