Water tanker to be provided for Ballinlough customers following power outage

Irish Water is advising customers on the Ballinlough-Loughglynn water supply they can use a water tanker until supply is restored following issues after from Storm Ophelia.

The local treatment supply was earlier without a power supply but this has since been rectified.

However, Irish water claims this will take time to charge and a water tanker, supplied by Mayo County Council, is available in Ballinlough village for customers who are experiencing outages.

Due to the ongoing boil water notice, customers are advised that they must also boil water from the tanker and they must also use their own containers to take water from the tanker.

It’s hoped full water supply will be restored by 9pm tonight.
