Visiting restrictions in place at Roscommon Hospital

Visiting restrictions have been put in place at Roscommon University Hospital due to an influx in the number of people presenting with flu.

The public have been asked not to visit in an effort to prevent the spreading of flu and to protect the many very sick people in the hospital.

Mullingar Hospital also put out a notice today appealing for people to consider other treatment options such as injury units and GPs.

People with flu can reportedly spread for 1-2 days before developing symptoms and up to 5 days after symptoms develop.
