Two Shannonside TDs describe criticism of their input to abortion debates as ‘unfair’

Two Shannonside TDs say criticism over their input into the abortion legislation in the Dáil is grossly unfair.

Roscommon Galway TDs Eugene Murphy and Michael Fitzmaurice have been among those labeled as anti-abortion TDs for asking questions, seeking clarification, and making contributions to the legislation.

Speaking on Let’s Talk today, Deputy Murphy says he is simply representing concerns as are being expressed to him from doctors, nurses and even pharmacists over providing the services.

He also says he is looking to the Minister to clarify how making it illegal to seek an abortion on grounds of disability after 12 weeks is included.

Depurty Fitzmaurice says he has genuine concerns over aspects of the legislation and it’s often very complicated.
