Gardai have appealed for information after a string of thefts in Ballaghaderreen earlier this week.

Four crimes occurred within hours of each other between 11pm on Tuesday and 3am on Wednesday this week.

Two burglaries were reported initially and then later that night two separate robberies occurred.

An attempt was also made to rob a man in another area of the town just a few hours later.

Six searches took places yesterday across three counties and some items were recovered.

Gardai seized a car believed to be used in the two robberies, which are thought to be linked, and currently two people are in custody.
