Tributes are being paid to a well known Roscommon businessman who passed away over the weekend.
Des Whyte, originally from Oran, set up the company Sierra, and had most recently been living in Castleknock in Dublin.
The communications company, set up in 1979, was taken over by Siteserv in 2007 in a multi-million euro deal.
Mr Whyte was a longtime sponsor of Roscommon GAA and was also well known in greyhounds circles and the Irish Greyhound Board has paid tribute to Mr Whyte this morning.
He along with his son Des were involved with Irish Oaks and Puppy Derby winner Oran Majestic, English Derby finalist Oran Classic and Easter Cup winner Oran Express.
