TII under increased pressure to address road safety and traffic management on old Ballinasloe road

Transport Infrastructure Ireland is coming under renewed pressure to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists on the old Athlone to Ballinasloe road.

Councillors John Keogh and John Naughten say they have once again called on the local authority to impress on the TII the need for traffic management and increased safety close to Colaíste Chiarán at Summerhill.

There are also continued concerns over the safety approaching Clonakilla national school.

Councillor John Keogh says the concerns of local parents now is should have been addressed when the original application for the school was being made.
