Tarmon National School expansion works to begin in coming months

Building work to develop new classrooms at a primary school in Roscommon is set to get underway in the coming months after approval was granted by the Department of Education

Planning permission was granted for a major extension at Tarmon national school in February of last year, and the school has been waiting for its application from the Department to be approved since to progress the work.

Four new classrooms, including two new autistic spectrum disorder facilities, as well as an early intervention classroom and mainstream room are to be developed under the plans.

It’s understood the project will cost a significant amount of money, and Roscommon senator Maura Hopkins says it is a great boost to the community:
