People living across the Shannonside region are being urged to attend a protest in Dublin next week to highlight the plight of rural Ireland.
The mission of those behind the rally is to get the government to put in place measures that can sustain family farming and the existence of life outside the capital.
The move arises out of the recent protests at beef plants across the country and organisers say that injunctions that remain against farmers following protest C&D in Longford must be lifted to allow the Beef Task Force meet and implement agreements reached.
The demonstration will get underway from Merrion Square for 2pm next Tuesday.
Eoin Mullooly who was part of the protest outside Athleague – is appealing to people and businesses who are supported by the agri sector to show their strength.
