The slow progress on roadworks on a “dangerous” patch of road on the N4 is “deeply disappointing”, according to a Roscommon senator.
Right-turn lanes at the Cootehall and Croghan junctions on the N4 between Boyle and Carrick-on-Shannon were due to be installed over the summer.
However, there was a delay because a safety audit requested by TII was not carried out, and according to Senator Frank Feighan the project was not given priority.
The senator claims he travels the route almost daily and says he was “amazed” that roadworks hadn’t progressed.
