School in Strokestown applying for planning permission for an extension

A school in Strokestown is applying for planning permission to develop a large extension.

Scoil Mhuire, Convent of Mercy Secondary School, at Lisroyne, has asked Roscommon County Council to allow it to build four new classrooms.

The proposed development would also include new toilets on a site which adjoins the Sisters of Mercy Convent, which is a protected structure.

The council is due to make a decision on the application by April 3rd, with submissions from the public invited until March 13th.
