Roscommon woman cautiously optimistic ahead of experimental cancer drug announcement

A Roscommon woman is hopeful that the Minister for Health will approve the HSE paying for an experimental treatment for cervical cancer sufferers this evening

Tracey Brennan will be in the Houses of the Oireachtas later this evening along with Cathaoirleach of Roscommon County Council Ivan Connaughton to hear Simon Harris discuss the possibility of providing Pembro to cervical cancer sufferers.

The drug is not available yet in Europe, but Tracey has been told that she would be a suitable person to receive the same type of treatment which is successfully being administered to cervical-cancer sufferer Vicky Phelan on licence from a US laboratory.
