Castlerea’s Seamus O’Brien, Ballaghaderreen’s Michael Mulligan and Monksland’s Joe Harney have been confirmed as Sinn Féin local elections candidates.
The party held a selection convention for the three Roscommon areas on Friday night in Gleeson’s Restaurant and Rooms in Roscommon town.
It was chaired by Ballinasloe councillor Dermot Connolly, while Mayo senator Rose Conway-Walsh was a guest speaker.
Mr Mulligan, a sitting councillor, was be selected for Boyle.
Mr O’Brien, who narrowly lost out in 2014, was chosen for Roscommon and community activist Mr Harney for Athlone.
Councillor Mulligan believes all three can get elected in May.
