A Roscommon TD is urging people to shop local after the Covid-19 pandemic is over.
Deputy Claire Kerrane made the comments to Shannonside Northern Sound in the wake of reports from the Central Bank stating the economy could collapse by 25% over the next three months and up to half a million people could lose their jobs.
According to Deputy Kerrane, there isn’t enough focus on job creation in rural regions as it is, and measures must be taken if people are to continue living and working here.
She says the IDA only made three visits to Roscommon last year, which is the second lowest number in the country along with Longford, Leitrm and Mayo.
