Roscommon man appointed to EU farming organisation

Roscommon native Seán Finan has been appointed to a top EU organisation representing more than two million young farmers throughout the union.

The former Macra na Feirme president said one of the immediate challenges to be faced will be ensuring that Brexit has as minimum impact as possible for young farmers.

Sean, from Ballinlough, has been elected as a vice-president of the European Council of Young Farmers, which includes members from 31 young farmers organisations across 23 member states.

He told Shannonside FM one of his focuses will be getting as many measures as possible in to CAP to support young farmers.
