Roscommon IFA Chairman says he can’t understand dead animal dumping

The chairman of Roscommon IFA has condemned several reports of dumping of dead animals in the west of the county.

Details released under the Freedom of Information Act show Roscommon County Council received four such complaints at the end of May-two relating to Castlerea and two in Ballaghaderreen.

Earlier in the month, it was reported there was a dead calf on the roadside near Roscommon town, and the remains of a deer found near Athlone.

Jim O’ Connor says it’s disappointing and concerning.
